Housed in the Fortress of Montecuccoli (XIII cent.) is the “territorial museum” dedicated to historic settlements and local culture. The largest section deals with issues of the Second World War and the war events occurred on the Gothic Line around the Montese area. The main hall has an exhibition area with show and display cases containing objects and clothing supplied to the soldiers who fought in these mountains, as well as artifacts found in the area of battle. One room is dedicated to the Brazilian Expeditionary Force (FEB) to whom we owe the liberation of Montese. Here can be found two reconstructions and a plastic diorama that shows the advance of allied troops on the surrounding hills.
After recent development, the museum now has audio-visual and multi-media installations and the exhibition has been further expanded with new dioramas placed in the entrance hall dedicated to the protagonists of the passage of the front in these areas.
